On Sunday, Sept. 10, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Wildwood police responded to a residence at 100 West Poplar Avenue for a female victim who was stabbed, Wildwood police said.

Police found the victim approximately two blocks away with multiple puncture wounds to her upper body, they said. Wildwood Rescue immediately performed life-saving measures and transported the victim to Atlantic City Medical Center due to the seriousness of her injuries.

During the preliminary investigation, additional information revealed that a possible suspect had barricaded themselves inside Apt 1A at 100 West Poplar Avenue. Members of the Cape May County Regional S.W.A.T. Team responded and set up a multi-block perimeter to ensure public safety.

Additionally, members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Crisis Negotiation Team were notified and responded to assist with the investigation. Eventually, the subject inside the apartment safely exited the residence and was detained for investigative purposes. This subject was determined to be a witness and transported back to police headquarters.

During the continuing investigation conducted by the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at 100 West Poplar Avenue, where DNA evidence was collected and submitted for analysis.

As a result of this investigation, the stabbing suspect was identified as 43-year-old Terrance Dore, of Wildwood.  Dore is also suspected to have a significant eye injury.

He is wanted on charges of criminal attempted murder and weapons offenses, police said.

Anyone with information concerning Dore’s location should contact the Wildwood Police Department at (609) 522-0222.
